Intent/Target audience/Competitors

This survival kit will be the ultimate accessory.  The target audience will be savvy and fashion-conscious women who also want to be prepared.  They will be cutting-edge and in tune with new styles and fashions.  My advertisements will be persuasive. The competitors will be regular purses and nuclear survival kits that are not mobile. 

10 Words:

Stylish – Sophisticated and fashionable. Impressive.

Prepare – Make something or somebody ready.  Make something by putting things together.  Equip somebody.

Hip – Fashionable.

Avant-garde – Artistically new.

Trendy – Currently fashionable.

Conscious – Intentional.  Well-informed.  Concerned with something.  Functioning with individual's knowledge.

Organized – Efficient.

Discerning – Very selective in judging.

Shrewd – Clever and probably accurate.  Good at judging people or situations.

Security - State or feeling of safety.  Freedom from worries of loss.  Precautions to maintain safety.

Freak Show Final

Here's my final draft of my Freak Show poster.  I made changes according to the critique and like the way it came out.  The text is easier to read on the actual poster.

Here are my Freak Show posters.  I did the pictures in Photoshop and then brought those into Illustrator.

I did one in black and white and another in color.

Freak Show Rough

The target Audience for my poster is school age children, ages 6-12.

My intent for this poster is to create an image for the Freak Show that portrays intrigue and encourages curiosity and acceptance.  I want to show that although it can seem scary, it presents a great opportunity for learning how to view things in a different light.  I chose April Greiman because I liked her use of photography and text.  Her images can be bright and a bit more playful, which might translate to the target audience well.

I combined words to make the slogan, "Wonderwhimsical Curioddities". 


I made 10 roughs but the one I'm using is a combination of 3 of the roughs.  I scanned in the roughs layered on top of each other so try to look past the clutter.

I like her use of text in these designs.
